Civil Society Index: The CSI is a participatory needs assessment and action tool for civil society. It is the first global review of the civil society sector. The CSI, an initiative of CIVICUS
(www.civicus.org) and ActionaidNigeria (www.actionaidnigeria.org) in partnership assesses and scores four different dimensions of civil society: structure; environment; values and impact of activities by civil society role players. DevNet partnership with Action Aid, Abuja are the implementing agencies for Nigeria.

International Alliances: Over the past decade, DevNet has facilitated the participation of NGOs from the sub-region at major international summits such as the World Summit on Sustainable Development (2002), Racism (WCAR 2001) and the World Summit on Information Society (WSIS). DevNet will continue this dynamic responsibility, which places the voices and concerns of CSOs in the sub-region on the international agenda.

Code of Conduct for NGOs: DevNet has developed Nigeria's and indeed West Africa's first code of conduct for CSOs. This is to further the goals of promoting professionalism, accountability and transparency. We intend to further pursue the implementation of this code of conduct through training and advocacy.

Promoting Volunteerism: DevNet intends to promote the culture of volunteerism among Nigerians. It is an opportunity for professionals to give something back to society. A plan of action is currently being developed with the support of the United Nations Volunteer programme Lagos. Join our list of Expert Database to start.
